Incorporating Agent Behavior into Web Services
نویسنده
چکیده
Current e-commerce systems require substantial human intervention in almost all phases of a business transaction. Software agent technology can be used to alleviate the problem and try to automate the business process as much as possible. This paper intends to combine the autonomous behavior of software agents and the interoperability of Web Services across heterogeneous and self-interested environments through agent behaviors The agent behaviors will not only describe operations and messages, but also valid invocation sequences of operations. New services can be composed flexibly and dynamically to utilize the best options available through public registries like UDDI. The paper provides algorithms to verify the validity of composed services.

Implementation of an Assessment System Incorporating Web-based Parameterized Questions
This paper presents a web-based assessment system, which supports parameterized questions, incorporating remote web services/applications, in order to use them during the evaluation process. The proposed system introduces a dynamic technique for creating a new type of parameterized web-based questions which mix static and dynamic content and thus, it operates as an integration framework, incorp...
متن کاملA three-level specification approach for an environment of software agents and Web services
This paper presents an approach for the specification of a software agent-based and Web service-oriented environment. A software agent is an autonomous entity that acts on user_s behalf. Whereas a Web service is an accessible application that other applications and humans can discover and trigger. Users in collaboration with their agents compose Web services into high-level business processes d...
متن کاملInternet collaboration and service composition as a loose form of teamwork
This paper describes Web Service composition as a form of team work, where the Web services are team members in a loose collaboration. We argue that newer hierarchical team work models are more appropriate for Web service composition than the traditional models involving joint beliefs and joint intentions. We describe our system for developing and executing Web service compositions as team plan...
متن کاملAgents are not (just) web services : considering BDI agents and web services
Web services and software agents share a motivation of aiming to facilitate more flexible and adaptable I.T. systems. Web services are increasingly being used to provide active behaviour over the Internet, and promise end-user benefits that, in previous work, have been associated with agent systems. Thus it is natural to consider what relationships agents should have to web services. We argue t...
متن کاملDAML enabled Web Services and Agents
Academic and industrial bodies are considering the issue of Web Services as being the next step forward. A number of efforts have been made and are evolving to define specifications and architectures for the spreading of this new breed of web applications. One such work revolves around the Semantic Web. Lead researches are trying to combine the semantic advantages that a Semantic Web can provid...
